Mauser Custom 7x57 $2395
Custom Mauser 7x57 built by an unknown early maker on a military Mauser action with a 22" barrel with banded ramp front sight . Bore is excellent. Has a long slide Lyman 48 reciever peep sight and an all steel Griffin & Howe sidemount with steel rings and Voigtlander A.G. Scoparette 4x26 scope with good optics and heavy post and crosshair. Jeweled bolt with two panel bolt knob checkering. This gun has a very well engineered and gunsmithed tang safety that absolutely blocks the trigger. Barrel muzzle, action, trigger guard, and floorplate feature well done scroll engraving with M.J. McDermott inlayed in gold on the floorplate. Stock is well figured European Walnut with ebony forend tip, pancake cheekpiece, and horn grip cap and buttplate.
I believe this piece to be from the early post-war era. It is a well done quality piece in very good overall condition. Weighs 7lb 13oz without scope and 8lb 13oz with scope.
