Highly customized Oberndorf Type M Mauser in 30-06 originally manufactured in 1920. Butterknife bolt handle with previous owner's name inlayed in gold. Round top receiver with stippled front reciever ring. All original and correct Oberndorf markings and proof marks. All numbers matching. Correctly installed Griffin & Howe sidemount with hidden screws and 1" rings with an American made Burris 3x9 Compact scope with plex crosshairs and excellent optics. Two position side swing safety. Twenty inch barrel with an excellent bore. Oberndorf floorplate with trigger bow release featuring supurb engraving on floorplate and trigger bow by Master Engraver Tommy Kaye of Junction,Texas. Engraving is scroll with a bear in gold inlay and gold accents. Engraving quality doesn't get any better than this.
Original full length Type M stock of straight grained European Walnut expertly refinished with recut checkering. Original horn grip cap and steel trap buttplate. 13 5/8" LOP 8lb with scope.
This is a very nice piece with classic and modern features and in very good condition. I believe the reciever and barrel blue to be original factory Mauser. It is a well configured light weight hunting rig with outstanding engraving by a well known master. Priced at just a bit over the cost of the engraving and gold inlay alone.
