Mauser Oberndorf Type B 8x57 $1695
Oberndorf Mauser Commercial Sporting Rifle in 8x57 manufactured in 1924. Round barrel with ramp front sight, banded front sling swivel, and 3-leaf folding rear sight. Bore is good but not excellent. Round top reciever with plain front ring. BU proofs. Single trigger with lever release floorplate. Schnabel forend tip, steel pistol grip cap, and Mauser WFM logo horn buttplate. Overall condition is 70%. All correct and original with all matching numbers. This is a rare caliber for guns made early between the wars as the Treaty of Versailles proscribed the German manufacture of the military 8x57 caliber. Not until the Nazi rise to power in 1936 was this caliber again produced in any volume.
